Catch Bugs Bug List

The in-game Bugdex holds 200+ species across eight zones. This list includes every bug we can verify from public guides and gameplay videos — with rarity, location, and spawn conditions.

Filter by zone when planning a grind route, or check the tomb-key section before your Secret Tomb run.

Bugdex overview

Every bug has a rarity tier, a home zone, and optional spawn conditions (time of day, weather, or event). Higher rarity means higher sell value and stronger vivarium income.

Common and rare bugs fund your early net upgrades. Exotic and celestial bugs belong in the vivarium unless you need them as Secret Tomb keys.

Crescent Wing Butterfly Tomb key elusive Moon Hollow After 6:30 PM (night cycle) Secret Tomb key #1. Slot it in the vivarium until your tomb run.
Wasp Moth Tomb key exotic Deeproot Caves Secret Tomb key #2. Bring a light lure for cave visibility.
Spiny Harvestman Tomb key elusive Dune Burrow Patrol entrances at dusk Secret Tomb key #3. The last key before the tomb run.

Rarity tiers explained

Rarity runs from common through supreme. Each tier increases base sell value and vivarium payout. Mutations stack on top of base rarity for up to ~3.25x value.

Zenith and Supreme bugs were added with the April 2026 Desert expansion and require endgame nets plus weather-event farming.

Secret Tomb key bugs

Three bugs unlock the Secret Tomb when carried simultaneously in your active inventory (not in the vivarium):

  • Crescent Wing Butterfly — Moon Hollow, after 6:30 PM
  • Wasp Moth — Deeproot Caves
  • Spiny Harvestman — Dune Burrow, patrol at dusk

Slot them in the vivarium for income while collecting, but pull them out before the tomb run.

Hunting tips by rarity

  • Common / rare: Catch everything in Grasslands and Crawlwood — speed beats perfection early.
  • Elusive / exotic: Match your net to the zone and hunt during the correct time cycle.
  • Mythical / celestial: Stack weather events with matching lures and a luck net (Bone Net).
  • Heavy bugs: Switch to the Scorpion Net when captures fail due to weight.
