Catch Bugs Vivarium

The vivarium is the engine of Catch Bugs progression. Every bug you slot produces cash automatically — online and offline. The rarer the bug, the higher the payout.

Selling your first rare bug is the #1 new-player mistake. This guide explains slot strategy from Day 1 through endgame.

How the vivarium works

Place bugs into vivarium enclosures to generate passive income. Upgrading the vivarium increases slot count and the global multiplier. Income continues while you are offline.

Offline income mechanics

Offline cash accumulates based on the rarity of slotted bugs and your vivarium upgrade level. Celestial and exotic bugs produce significantly more than common species.

Slot strategy

  • Always slot your rarest bug before selling duplicates.
  • Keep tomb keys slotted for income until you are ready for the tomb run.
  • Replace lower-rarity slots as you catch better species.

Fastest cash strategy

Early game: slot one rare per zone, sell everything else, buy Fast Net then Royal Net. Mid game: prioritize Cave Mother and exotic cave bugs. Endgame: celestial and zenith bugs with vivarium upgrades maxed.
